This film is a bit choppy. It starts off in Xordaki, Akrotiri, Crete. Next, I think it jumps to Paidoxori, Apokorona, Crete, and then back to Akrotiri, Sternes, where there is dancing in Kosta and Eleni Verganelakis' house. Possibly for Stavro's Baptism, but I cannot be sure.Antoni Panagirakis, the xorofilaka (police man), is a crafty dancer, who was one of the most passionate and loving people I've ever known, god rest his soul. You'll also catch Helen Sooklaris and Maria dancing in this feature film.Notice the woman lyradzida, or rather, violistra (violinist), not very typical at that time. People are definitely dancing in the streets for these village celebrations. It is typical of the Cretan Kefi that needs no formal venue to occur.Shot and Edited by Anthony Sooklaris (Tsouchlarakis) in 1961. Enjoy! [Περισσότερα] [Λιγότερα] |
